The full-length design layers under ski or snowboard pants for cold-weather activity. Choose the KX2 Alpine for its combination of fleece-lined warmth, 2 mm support-layer construction, and a simple elastic waistband.

These are fantastic! I’ve read how they need to be higher. I initially thought that as well. What I discovered is the insulated pair slide easily down when wearing underwear. However, going commando solved the problem. And, they are much more comfortable. IMO

Extends my Ride Time

I'm 57 years old, in average shape, and like to snowboard. Our local "mountain" is small with shorter runs and my right knee would start to ache after just a few runs. No prior damage, just age I guess. I bought the KX2s ahead of a trip to a much larger mountain where I'd be riding much longer trails (4x - 5x longer) and all day long vs. just a couple of hours at our local mountain. The support and thermal protection of the KX2s allowed me to ride almost all day long two days in a row. They are a bit of a chore to put on and take off, but that's by design. They need to be super snug in order to do their thing. As others have said, the waist does ride low. I felt like my pants were falling down all day long (they weren't), but you get used to the fit after a little while.

Absolutely worth it!

I’m a 48 intermediate skier with a host of knee hip and foot issues. I bought a pair of alpine thermals and can honestly say it changed everything. From soreness to bend to strength throughout the day- it all improved in the very best ways! I honestly was not expecting this kind of difference. Entirely worth the price tag and will wear these every time out from now on! 🙏🏻 ⛷️ 😃 ❤️ thank you!

Very helpful

I had ACL replacement and struggled with bracing and compression during recovery. I found these worked well for running (although a bit warm) and enabled me to run further than without knee pain, and didnt ride up/down like a knee-only compression product. I also use skiing (with DonJoy brace) in moderate weather (e.g. too warm for thermal) and love it.
Main downsides: after 3-4 wears, i still have a bit of gathering on the back of knee. Also, unlike the thermal 7/8s i bought, why dont these have a pocket in the leg for e.g. a phone?

To address your concerns: if you are feeling a 'gathering' on the back of your knee after the break in period, it might be that you could use a smaller size. But if you are still feeling the compression & support that you need, a little bit of 'gathering' is normal. Second, your thermal 7/8 length design would be from the KS Collection -- our newer collection which features side phone pockets! The KX Collection designs are our original designs with their own features, such as lighter fabric and a thicker knee support layer in the KX2. We decided not to mess with a good thing, and hoped if our customers were looking out for phone pockets, they would choose a design from the KS Collection!
